Happy New Year! I hope yours is a safe, healthy and prosperous year.

I took a little time to look over the roster for the 07-08 season. I'm not as worried as I thought I might be. (Class indication is what they'll be in 07/08...and this is if everyone comes back. Why they wouldn't, I don't know!)

Setters:
Jr Angelle Guerre
So Jessee Erikson.
Unless someone else on the team can step into a setter role, I bet the next class of recruits will include 1 or 2 setters.

DS: (Defensive Specialist - Libero): I'm not sure who'll step into the role this year. I believe its on a try-out basis. Having said that, we have:
Jr Krystal Torres - 06/07 Libero
Sr Brianna Akrie
Sr Jordan Bostic
So Nicole Holguin
So Ashley Dminguez

OH: (Outside hitter)
Sr Kim Oguh
Jr Mary English
Sr Jordan Bostic
So Krista Altermatt
So Whitney Woods (redshirt 06/07)

MH: (Middle hitter)
Jr Amber Simpson
Sr Anna Callis
SO Kelli Goodan
SO Angel Tirado

Wow - 4 seniors - Brianna, Jordan, Kim and Anna.

The only freshmen we saw last season was Krista (40 games), Kelli (37 games) and Nicole Holguin (6 games). Jessee, Ashley, Whitney and Angel are still a mystery.

I don't know how or where the early signers will fit in. Kayleigh Giddens, WHitney Phillips and Alex Steinmetz (from LCHS) are all OH.

Also, I don't know the redshirt situation so I'm sure that will change things up a bit.

Thoughts?

Aggies just recently tried to sign Shannon Krug a sophmore setter transfering out of Utah but she settled on Pacific.Could there be a message there?

I shall hit the ball back to you.

What do you think the message is?

On the surface it could say that Aggie coaches are looking for someone with a higher level of experience at that position and may feel that the two setters that they have are lacking in that area and need more development time.Neither have that much playing time.

I thought that's where you might be going. I agree. Jackie Choi was "THE" setter which didn't really give anyone else much of a chance to get into that position.

Who knows what could happen between now and the season?
