Gameday! Tonight we take on Utah State, 7pm at Las Cruces High. We took them in 3 games on Sept 28th. This should be yet another great game so if you've got nothing better to do - and with the football team out of state today - you have have NO excuse for not cruising by and experiencing a little Aggie Domination.

I know that some folks come by from the Volleytalk message boards and I wanted to address something here rather than over there. I've been messaging back and forth with a couple of the members. Some have been really nice in showing me different websites about volleyball, how the AVCA poll is figured out and so on. Then there are a couple of folks who just don't seem to get it. I know they read here - I need to get this out.

First of all, I understand that the majority of the posters over there are from Hawaii. I know that the current board evolved from another website where (I believe) it was run by Hawaii fans. HOWEVER: It's time to get over our win. It's time to do like your team has done and put it behind you. I don't care if you think your team gave us the game or we only won because you had injured starters or the moon wasn't aligned properly with Venus or whatever. It's over. We won. The majority of you have been very classy in regards to the game. That's a great reflection on your school. I understand the tradition of winning at UH. Congratulations. Now it's our turn. I know its going to be a seriously competitive game on the 12th. Will we win? Man, I hope so but you all are going to be ready for us. I guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens.

To the rest of the folks who don't believe NMSU belongs in the Top 25, I've got news for you. We belong there because we've got a hell of a team. Not many of your top 25 teams can claim a 25-1 record, can they? Stop whining that we aren't playing hardcore teams. Solid wins against Hawaii and San Diego St this season have done wonders for us. We soundly defeated a competitive Nevada team. So what Nebraska, Penn St or Stanford isn't on our schedule? If we were in their conferences it would be a different story.

So stop harping that we don't belong there. We do - and probably a little higher ranked than where we are. Unless you've been in the stands at every home game and watched this team grow and mature this year, you don't have a leg to stand on when you complain.

Did you notice that it took 4 games for Hawaii to beat Idaho at home? And all the rabid Wahine fans seem to forget that NMSU was the only team last year to take Hawaii to five games both home and away? Anna had a great game on Saturday, but Tonya and Alice are going to have to be a lot more effective on a per-swing basis than they were against Nevada. Paul
